محمد جاوید امانی
Jawid Amani was born in 2003 in the Jaghori, Ghazni province of Afghanistan during a time when the country was still recovering from decades of war and conflict. His family moved to the western part of Kabul for better education opportunities. There he attended a renowned school and excelled as a top student and was involved in student committee leadership.
Jawid Amani survived two suicide bombings at Kawsar Danish Educational Society on Oct 24, 2020 and one at Mawoud Educational Society on Aug 15, 2018 during his high school years. He lost many friends in those tragic attacks.
Amani founded the Change Makers of the World organization, through which he provided many social, cultural, and educational programs for children and youth in Afghanistan, and more than 5,000 people benefited from its activities. Later, he joined the leadership committee of the National Youth Consensus for the Peace of Afghanistan, where he worked to promote meaningful intra-Afghan peace process. Through that, he collaborated closely with grassroots organizations, the government, and the international community, facilitating the inclusion of young people in the Afghan peace process.
Following the collapse of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan's government, he was forced to leave the country and immigrate due to the severe risks posed. Presently, he is involved in developing social programs for assisting immigrants within American and European organizations.
In 2023, Jawid Amani has been recognized with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award.
